Objective

India is one of the youngest nations in the world with nearly 65% of its population in the working age group of 15-64 years and more than 54% of its total population below 25 years of age. To reap this demographic dividend, India needs to equip its workforce with employable skills and knowledge so that they can contribute substantively to the economic growth of the country.

Poised to become the world’s youngest country by 2020, with an average age of 29 years, India will account for around 28% of the world’s workforce. The country is also blessed with magnificent and diverse cultures and languages, making it inherently distinctive. The talent-rich, enthusiastic and skill-trained workforce equips India to become the world’s leading provider of talent.

What is Technical Intern Training Program (TITP)?

The program promotes international collaboration through the transfer of skills, technology, and knowledge among the participating countries thereby, contributing towards the human resource development. It offers training to the workers for a specific period (3 – 5 years) in Japan’s industrial society.

The objective is to ensure that the most competent youth is selected and sent to Japan to participate in TITP.

Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India and the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation initiating the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) in India in October 2017.

Implementation of TITP in India

The workflow given below outlines the sequence of processes that a Sending Organization shall follow during the implementation of TITP:

NSDC through Request for Proposal (RFP) empanels Sending Organizations (SOs). The Sending Organization shall identify candidates as per the defined eligibility criterion and conduct Pre-Departure Training of their candidates and ensure that the candidates are trained on the following aspects:

Japanese language training up to the level as desired by the Supervising Organization
Japanese lifestyle, manners, social and professional etiquettes in order to impart the knowledge essential for living in Japan
Requisite domain training, if required. Sending Organization should consult the Supervising Organization about the requirement with respect to the experience of the candidates before enrolling them for the batch.
Any other relevant aspects, as deemed fit by the Sending Organization in consultation with the Supervising Organization

TITP Guidelines

Success Stories

First batch of 15 candidates trained by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in consortium with Nihon Technology Pvt. Ltd. sent to Japan under TITP.

The batch consists of candidates between the age group of 19 - 23 years from Tamil Nadu. The candidates are underdoing training in Electronic equipment/ devices assembling work in Japan.

Two Interns are trained by Lohia Corp Ltd. undergoing internship at GRA Inc, an Implementing Organisation in Japan

The boys, 21 Years, haling from Uttar Pradesh, have joined TITP post their senior secondary schooling. They are interning in Cultivation Agriculture job role, learning to cultivate high quality strawberries in a greenhouse.

Sending Organisations

To ensure effective implementation and meet the objectives of the program, NSDC has empanelled a diverse pool of competent Sending Organizations for mobilizing and sending skilled Indian youth to Japan.

What is a Sending Organization

Eligible and competent youth, who are willing to upgrade their technical skillset through TITP in Japan, would be enrolled and imparted training in India by the Sending Organization. The Sending Organization will act as an intermediary with Supervising Organizations for candidates who wish to undertake Technical Intern Training in Japan.

Become a Sending Organization

NSDC will keep initiating processes to identify and onboard credible and competent organizations at appropriate time at its discretion. Organizations interested to become Sending Organization will have to participate in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process as informed by NSDC from time to time and meet requisite conditions.
