There is love and support. You can sense that beaming from Rohit's family of five, settled in the middle of the capital city, Delhi. Rohit's family is proud. His father, runs a small business of selling flowers in the local market and is a sound believer of hard work and dedication, but his income falls short of providing for his children in the expensive metropolitan city.
Struggling through the years, Rohit managed to pass his Class 12thexams. Even though he wanted to pursue further studies, he had to leave his academic career and begin supporting his father in the flower business. His nights became about learning the aspects of trade and flowers and days about sharing and employing that knowledge with the customers.
One day, with the keenness to study further not extinguished yet, Rohit heard about the Skill India Mission and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK). Delighted, he visited Orion Edutech PMKK center at Mandir Marg in Delhi and met the counselor at the training centre. The counselor explained to him in detail about the course structure and accessible job opportunities. The learnings amused him, especially since the training programs were free-of-cost under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
Rohit shares, "While going through the syllabus I realized that the Solar PV Installer (Electrical) course had good career opportunities but I had no previous knowledge about it. However, I admire the way my trainerssupported me and helped me cope up with the difficulties I faced during the training period."
Post the training, Rohit's dedication and potential secured him a job at Emox Engineering in Qatar with a monthly salary of Rs 40,000 per month. Rohit is an example of realizing dreams through skills and devotion and also never giving up. He is among the 10 lakh candidates who have been successfully placed and received better livelihood opportunities from PMKVY skill training initiative under the Skill India Mission.
