Glimpses of IndiaSkills 2021 National Competition

Empowering the local artisans of Kashmir
Not only is Kashmir one of the most scenic places of India but home to many handicrafts. To further empower the local artisans of Jammu & Kashmir, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship launched two projects—revival of Namda craft as a special pilot project under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 3.0 and upskilling of local artisans and weavers of the valley under the Recognition of Prior Learning component of PMKVY.
Here’s a glimpse of how this project is enhancing the marketing skills and techniques to promote traditional and local crafts by Kashmiri artisans.
Strengthening skills of India’s street food vendors
Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship along with East Delhi Municipal Corporation launched a project under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)—a component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 3.0—to upskill street food vendors of East Delhi, making them eligible for e-cart licenses.
