Orissa has witnessed an unusual spurt Industrial Training Institutes or ITIs in the past few years with the total number of such institutes doubling since 2007. The problem however, is the well documented lack of quality training in these institutes with a recent McKinsey study highlighting the lack of employability of graduates.
On the demand side of the story, the automotive industry across India is facing an acute shortage of skilled manpower especially for servicing of heavy vehicles. The industry recruits a large number of ITI Diesel Mechanics and MMV (Mechanic Motor Vehicle) graduates from the various ITIs across India but most new hires require extensive training due of lack of quality trainers & infrastructure at the ITIs.

GRAM TARANG has setup a captive 200 seater fully residential training facility at Bhubaneswar to cater to its manpower requirements across its dealerships and help employ the large number of ITI graduates of the state.
