ArthaVidhya, the initiative of ePalmleaf ITES Pvt. Ltd., an NSDC partner, is a class apart from the ordinary. Its flagship program titled ‘Business Accounting Processes’ (BAP) is designed keeping in view the technology-driven youth of today. It aims to equip the ordinary student with the exposure to the practical accounting world and thereby helping them achieve the employability levels. The program is designed to educate students about the entire life cycle of commercial transactions that takes place in any organization.
The program adopts the concept of “Learn by doing”. As it is rightly said, “I see and I remember, I do and I learn”. The course is designed in a way that the student gets to really work on all the scenarios that emerge in the changing business atmosphere. It all starts with virtually creating a company and setting up office along with all the commercial elements such as customers, suppliers, employees, bank accounts and all other statutory requirements. He is then required to perform transactions in a set of processes that any business enterprise encounters in the ordinary course of business.
There is also an online chat system, where a student can reach out to the faculty with his queries’. This is a complete online program, enabling students to learn from anywhere at anytime. There is also a new concept of ‘Online VIVA” to ensure that the registered student takes the VIVA. The final assessment is called the ’employment readiness’ test. This is compared to the initial assessment and the proof of improvement is highlighted, thereby boosting the confidence levels of the student.
To stimulate the knowledge quest, the program software is designed as a game, wherein the student needs to complete the previous process first to unlock the next process and similarly complete quizzes to reach the next level.
The faculty virtually walks along the path with the student to lend him support at various levels by various means. One such support is “Need help” icon, displayed prominently on all the transaction screens. Upon clicking the icon, the computer records the screenshot of the transaction step and sends it to the faculty, who in turn, are able to assist the student by giving clarity on the topic.
The “NGO” Program is like the ‘jewel in the crown’. This is a social initiative towards students from the economically marginalized section in our society. As a part of this initiative, the students of any registered NGO are admitted to the ArthaVidhya course completely free of any charge. Also, assisting them with any help post the successful completion of the course is a part of the social responsibility measures of ePlamleaf.
In order to help scores of students across the country that might not have access to the minimal infrastructure requirement of the course, ePalmleaf came up with an innovative concept of channel partner tie-ups with the cyber cafes’. Such students can approach any cyber center that is a channel partner of ArthaVidhya and can enroll into the course.
In all the endeavors of ePlamleaf, the Upskilling of students and their employability gets the foremost prominence. Nevertheless, ePlamleaf are indeed partners in realizing the ‘Skilled India Mission’.
